126 Construction Professionals Complete Apprenticeship

On Friday, March 25th one hundred twenty-six graduates from Fresno, Oakland, Stockton, Auburn, Windsor and Hayward celebrated successfully completing the Associated Builders and Contractors Northern California Chapter (ABC NorCal) Apprenticeship Program at its Livermore facilities.

Stockton resident Susano Archuleta was named Apprentice of the Year last week by the Associated Builders and Contractors Northern California Chapter Apprenticeship Program, according to a release shared by an ABC NorCal representative.

Associated Builders and Contractors today released the following statement from Ben Brubeck, ABC vice president of regulatory, labor and state affairs, in reaction to the U.S. Department of Labor’s proposed rule, Updating the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts Regulations. The 1931 Davis-Bacon Act and related regulations require contractors and subcontractors that perform work on federal and federally funded construction projects to pay a government-determined prevailing wage and benefit rate on an hourly basis to on-site construction workers.

ABC Cheers Supreme Court OSHA COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate Ruling

Associated Builders and Contractors today applauded the U.S. Supreme Court for reinstating the stay on the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Emergency Temporary Standard, which applies to employers with 100 or more employees. On behalf of the construction industry, ABC filed one of the emergency appeals to the Supreme Court leading to this successful outcome.
